Strength of the material can equal or exceed the base element
Minimum heat distortion from the process
Reliable and relatively inert from corrosion introduced in the
Material stress or fatigue failure corrections

Stainless rod brazing restores tube connection integrity in this gas
Failure between a brass tubesheet and the Grey iron cast shell is
common. Here the joint is restored with a silver brazed repair.
Shell and tube baffle wear is caused by cyclic movement of the
baffle wearing into the tube creating a leak. Silver brazing the site of
the leak both stops the leak and prevents future baffle movement.
